The Timeline of Soledad Katigbac

25th February 2008

Mama was perfectly healthy until she suffered a stroke. She fell one morning and was discovered by Ate Judy, Kuya Joel and Jocelyn. They took her to Mother Setton Hospital to be admitted. She spent 10 days in the hospital where she was seen my numerous doctors. When she was released from the hospital, she spent time in bed at home where she was most comfortable.

2nd April 2008

Ivy and Faye came home to Naga City to check on Mama. When they got there, they discovered that Mama was very weak so they decided to take her to Mother Setton Hospital to be admitted. She stayed there for 7 days.

27th May 2008

Bea requested mass to be said for Mama on April 2, 2008, while Ivy was in the Philippines. And she was given two dates: 5/27 and 6/1. Little did we know that on the 27th of May, Mama would suffer from another stroke which will be her final one.

1st June 2008

On this day, our Maker called Mama to come home. Also on this day, a memorial mass that was previously arranged by Bea was confirmed that God picked that day to receive Mama in heaven. The Avellana's, The Burdios' and The Manalang's attended this memorial mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Succor Church in Newhall, California.

5th June 2008

Our Mama spent 4 days at the Imperial Funeral Home where she was visited by family members who travelled far and wide, including her daughter Marlene and youngest brother, Jun who flew from Los Angeles to be with her. She was also visited by numerous friends that knew and adored her. She was laid to rest at Sto. Nino Memorial Park close to the Our Lady of Penafrancia Basilica. Her epitaph reads: "God took her home, it was His will, but in our hearts, she lives still."
